Encore's Custom Calligraphy Software Program
Q. What happens if I am having a problem loading the calligraphy program?
A. If you are working with a mouse that has a center wheel, you can ignore
this option and download the program. If you still cannot download the
program then you need disable the wheel function before attempting to
install "Calligraphy By Encore Studios". To this hit, Ctrl, Alt and Delete
keys at the same time. This will bring up the close program dialog box.
Scroll to and highlight the "MSWHEEL" task and then hit the "End Task"
button. If you still cannot load the program, please e-mail us letting
us know you tried this solution and we will give you another alternative.
Q. Can I load and save the calligraphy program to a diskette from my computer
and then work on my list using the diskette in another computer?
A. No.
Once you have begun to enter your list on a computer, the list cannot
be completed on any other computer. When you save the names and addresses
entered, you may exit the program to run other programs. However, when
returning to complete the entering of guest list. It MUST be completed
on the same computer.
Q. Can I print the list and proof read it before
I send it to be addressed.
A. Yes. When completed and saved, you are given an opportunity
to print an alphabetized tabulation of your list so that it may be proofed
and if necessary, corrected. To do this click the "View Guest List "
button, which will bring up the "Proofing and Editing" screen and click
the print button. At this point you may edit your list on the screen
or print it. Any corrections are then made by exiting and returning
to the Proofing and Editing" screen by highlighting the name to be corrected
and then clicking the edit button. When your guest list is submitted,
it will be assumed that it has already been proofed and ready for printing.
Q. What if I need help on what is proper in the addressing of a particular
envelope?
A. An "Etiquette" button is provided on each of the screens
that make up this program. When this button is clicked you will be presented
with a " Guide to Proper Envelope Addressing."
Q. Do I need to add a comma
after entering the city name?
A. No, it is not necessary to enter a comma
since the program does this automatically. The comma will not be visible
on the screen, but will appear after the city on your addressed envelope.
Q. How do I key in foreign addresses?
A. On the "Select Occasion" screen
unclick the "Prompt for Verification of All Required Fields" button. Unclick
the "prompt verification button"; begin entering the information exactly
as you want it to appear on each line. For a five-line name and address,
you may begin the address at the "Additional Names" field.
Q. How do I
delete the "Encore Studios Calligraphy Program" from my computer?
A. Select
and double click "My Computer", Select and double click the "C" drive
or the drive which corresponds to your hard drive, and highlight "Programf",
click "Edit" on the task bar and click delete.
Q. I am ready to place
my printing order but have not yet completed my guest list. What do I
do?
A. When a printing order is submitted but the calligraphy list is
to follow, we will ship the printed order but hold the envelopes. The
calligraphed envelopes, when completed, will then be shipped. When the
calligraphy list is submitted together with the printing order, the printed
order and the calligraphed items will be shipped together.
Q. How do I
handle late additions or corrections?
A. Invariably guest lists need to be amended or addresses
corrected after the order has been completed. To accommodate additions
and/or corrections after shipping a calligraphy order, we will hold
any extra envelopes pending instructions to do otherwise. Should
there be additions or corrections, they must be faxed, mailed or e-mailed
and the dealer name, job name, calligraphy typestyle, and ink color
indicated. No telephone additions or corrections will be
accepted.
Q. Do you offer calligraphy on any envelope?
A. The "Calligraphy by Encore
Studios" system may be used to address most envelopes available in the
Encore Studios albums. We cannot address dark color envelopes, custom
made envelopes, or self-seal folders.
Q. What are my typestyle choices?
A. You may choose to use the typestyle used on the printed order or choose
a different look from an array of typestyles offered in the typestyle
section of any Encore Studios album. These include many classic as well
as custom Encore typestyles.
Q. Can I use any ink color?
A. All ink colors used for calligraphy are coordinated to
match as closely as possible to the standard ink colors presented in
the various Encore Studios albums. Please keep in mind that there will
be variations due to the different printing processes used (i.e. Engraving,
Thermography, Silk Screening, Flat Offset). Should you require a custom
ink color, simply specify the PMS number or send a swatch for us to
match. Please note: We do not offer calligraphy in metallic colors (such
as gold), pearls or white ink.
